Cheap Gas Barbecues

Is it worth buying a cheap gas barbecue?
Its a good question by any stretch of the imagination but nevertheless a very important one. In comparison with other types of barbecues, a gas barbecue has one important factor which is of primary importance and that is safety. Managing a barbecue in general can be a relatively tricky task.
Firstly it involves heat, lots of it and that means keeping the kids as far away as possible from the device. Secondly, there is the additional factor of managing the cylinder as well. With a cheap gas barbecue there is always the possibility the gas supply is external to the main unit and this can pose a myriad of problems. Concerns such as making sure no hot flame can get near the gas supply to basic mobility can mean that a gas barbecue with and external supply is more trouble than its worth. Still, you can find relatively cheap gas barbecues on the market which have the cylinder contained within the main unit which makes life a whole lot easier.
Of course the up-side to using a gas barbecue is convenience and cleanliness. If you have any experience with a gas fireplace the first thing you notice is there really is nothing to do. Turn it on, wait for the coals to heat up and start cooking. No more, no less. When your finished just switch it off and leave it for the next outing with friends or fanily. This leaves you plenty of time to do what you should be doing, i.e. enjoying yourself!
Many people believe that a gas barbecue is nothing like the real thing. This is not really true. There can be a lot of aspects of a charcoal barbecue which are downright unpleasant. The mess, having to spend an eternity lighting the darn thing and of course the constant expense of buying fuel, which is also the case with a gas barbecue but costs much more.
Personally, it depends on the time you have that would dictate to me if a gas barbecue is suitable for the moment. I find that regardless of gas or charcoal, the time you put in always shows in the quality of what you cook.
